She passed today with her family nearby, at the age of 95. While she was in many of my favorite old movies, including Miracle on 34th Street, I think the role I like her in most was in the original version of The Parent Trap in 1961. Rest in peace, fair lady.

I was very fond of her too. She and John Wayne did great work together (McLintock is my favorite) but everything she did was good. Maureen was a grand old gal.......

I did see that news yesterday. As I understand, up until this year, she still enjoyed life and was pretty much the same feisty Irish redhead, she had been throughout her entire 95 years.

I loved the statement issued by her family:

"Maureen was our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family as they celebrated her life listening to music from her favorite movie, 'The Quiet Man.'"

She was a grand lady! The Quiet Man was one of my favourite movies.
