It's solared powered, so may not be running all the time, given the weather up there and cloud cover, although I'm hoping it stores enough energy to be operable. They have 2 eggs being incubated at this time by "Mr. President" and "First Lady".

There's a brand spanking new fuzzy hatchling in the DC nest! While I am still partial to our favorite Decorah pair, I'm thrilled to know we have more and more Eagles being born each year. We are supposed to get a very cold snap this weekend, but then it will warm back up again. Rich and I hope to take Maddie and head out to the dam next week to see what kind of eagle action there is this year.

Also, every single time we go to Josh and Tiffany's we see one. It's always in the same area and so far, it's only one, but it's definitely a baldy.

Two days ago while we drove up Lee Hwy. where they've been doing a lot of construction and ripping out hillsides (grrrr!) we saw 2 very large raptors that we couldn't quite make out what they were except their wing tips were white. We were stopped by a construction worker, while other cars got to pass through the one open lane and it seems that everyone was trying to see those 2 soaring birds, including the guy holding the stop sign. LOL! Given that they were not too terribly far from where we see the one lone eagle, we are hoping that those 2 were also eagles.

I get so excited anytime I see them or hawks. Almost like seeing horses, to me. LOL!

They now have an egg at the DC nest, too. We are well on our way to a (hopefully) great Eaglet season!
